Learning Center: Energy Control

Automating your HVAC system and Hot water tank is easy! We simply replace the standard thermostats or power supply with our smart ones. All other equipment (furnace, AC, ducts, dampers, how water tanks, water valves) remain the same.
By automating your HVAC system and Hot water tank, you can see fantastic savings on your energy bill.

Our systems are based on occupancy and activity, not a set schedule. When you leave the house, the temperature will automatically be set back. When you arrive home it will quickly come back to the correct level. The same is true when you go to bed at night.

In addition to saving energy, you will also have increased comfort. We can program the heat to come on 30 minutes before you wake up. While getting out of bed is never easy, it's much easier if the home is warm.

Real-World Applications:

Wasting electricity on Hot Water? - Our family members never know when their going to need a shower or wash that load of dishes. But when we want to, we need hot water.

Before automating our home, our electric bill would cost a fortune keeping the hot water tank on all day long.

Now, we keep our hot water on in the morning & evening. And, During the day, the hot water is turned on when the motion detectors see us. When we leave or go to sleep it goes back into energy saver mode.

Energy Management$$ flying out the window - When we moved into our new home we purchased an energy efficient furnace to lesson our carbon footprint as well as reduce our monthly utility bill. This fancy new HVAC system fulfilled our expectations the first two months of its operation.

However, in month three (July), we noticed a $537 increase in our cooling bill. What we came to discover is that our son would open his bedroom window before he went to bed, and the energy efficient cooling system was pushing cold air directly out the window, for 10 hours each night...

Our new automation system ensures this will never happen again. When our sons window (or any other window for that matter) is left open for more then 20 minutes, the HVAC system in that part of the house is turned on. When the window closes, the HVAC system resumes automatically.

Basement Rec Room - Our basement level is our family's play area. We go down there enjoy some quality family time to play games, watch a movie, or shoot some pool.

Before automating our home, our basement would cost a fortune to heat/cool with the rest of the house.

Now, we keep our basement at 60 degrees in the winter and 80 degrees in the summer. When the family goes into the basement the motion detectors see us and have the heat/cool turn on. Within 20 minutes the basement is at a pleasant 70 degrees. When we leave the area it goes back into energy saver mode.

Warm floors - The travertine in our master bath looks great, but it is not inviting to our bare feet during the winter.

We now have our floor heaters programmed to turn on 20 minutes before we wake up on work days. It runs for 45 minutes and then shuts off automatically. This ensures we never greeted by a cold floor first thing in the morning.

Can I control my heating/cooling systems remotely?
